Biography of Lalith Senanayake

1973 - Born in Colombo, Sri Lanka

1988 - Wins first place in Track & Field event in 100m & 5000m at the Inter House
Athletics meet, St. Josephs Collage C‑olombo 14.

1992- First appointment as a Computer Graphic Designer and Journalist (The Island & Divaina) at the Upali News Papers Limited, Colombo Sri Lanka.

1993 - Certificate of Page Layout and Graphic Designing at Press Institute Colombo
Sri Lanka.

1993 - Joins as a Graphic Designer and Cartoonist at the Nawaliya news Paper.

1994 - Completes Certificate of Graphic Designing at IDM Institute, Colombo Sri Lanka.

1994 - Completes four year Higher Diploma drawing and painting traditional Temple Frescoes conducted by the National Museum of Sri Lanka.

1996 - Participates with ten Sri Lankan student artists in a group exhibition at the National
Art Gallary.

1999 - Participated with five year Sri Lankan artist in the reconstruction of Traditional
Temple Art.

2000 – Worked as a Cartoonist in The Island News Paper - Sri Lanka

2004 - Wins Journalism award for Excellence Best Cartoonist of the year - English Language.

2006 - Designed a ”Safety at Sea” manual book for FAO (UN)

2005 - Joins as a Chief. Graphic Designer and Cartoonist at the Rivira Media Corporation.

2008 - Joined Arts Academy Colombo, Sri lanka.

2008 - First Solo Exhibition of Paintings and Sculpture at Lionel Wendt Art Gallery
Sri Lanka.

2009 - Solo Exhibition (Pussallawa on Canvas) Paintings at the American Center Colombo.

2009 - Solo Exhibition (My way) International Cartoon at the Chitrakala parishat in India.

2009 - Joined as a Chief Lecture at the Agasthi Academy of Art Sri Lanka.

2010 - Wins highly commended award for British Council cartoon contest.

2010 - Joined as a Visiting Lecture at the Visual and Performing Art University Sri Lanka.

2014 - Solo Exhibition (Fe+) scrap metal art & Wild life Drawing at the Gandhara Gallery Colombo.

2014 - Currently working as a Graphics Editor at the Rivira Media Corporation.

2015 - Joined British Council Rivers of the World project in The British Council is the United Kingdom & Sri lanaka.
